Risk assessment and counseling based on your health history, travel itinerary, duration of trip, and planned in-country activities
Review activities that may bring you into contact with disease-transmitting insects, unsafe food and water, dangerous animals, marine hazards, or high-altitude exposure
Review possible exposure to tropical and infectious diseases and how to protect yourself
Evaluate any relevant underlying health issues that may affect your travel (e.g., pregnancy, immunodeficiency disorders, cardiopulmonary disease)
Review your current immunization status
Administer vaccines, as needed
Prescribe medications, as needed, for the prevention or treatment of malaria, travelers’ diarrhea, altitude illness, jet lag, or motion illness
Discuss stand-by malaria treatment strategies, if appropriate
Evaluate post-travel illness and provide referral, if necessary
